FTC and 20 States Sue Dollar General Over Deceptive Pricing
Shoppers at Dollar General have been paying more at the register than the prices displayed on shelves and in advertisements. On Monday, the Federal Trade Commission and a coalition of 20 states filed a federal lawsuit in Tennessee, accusing the discount retailer of systematic price mislabeling that cost consumers millions.

The coalition of states pursuing the litigation includes California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee, the latter serving as the company’s headquarters. While the suit seeks restitution for those affected by the overcharges, Dollar General has not yet issued a response to the allegations.
