Andy P. Marcellwas appointed CEO of Reinsurance Solutions in June 2018. He plays a wide role in managing the global business and works with clients, and colleagues, to support the firm’s ongoing growth strategies. Andy is also a member of the Reinsurance Solutions Executive Committee.
In his prior role, as Head of Strategy for Reinsurance Solutions, Andrew Marcell developed innovative ways to grow our business across our existing client base, and implemented a range of strategies to attract new clients to our firm.
Prior to joining Aon in August 2015, Andy was CEO of Guy Carpenter’s U.S. Operations and head of Guy Carpenter’s Global Facultative business. He was also a member of the Guy Carpenter Board of Managers and the International Leadership Team.
Andy joined Guy Carpenter's London office in 1990 from Hoare Govett in London, where he was a Convertible Equity Trader. During 25 years at Guy Carpenter, he served in a variety of roles including as a U.S. wholesale casualty broker, responsible for a variety of professional liability treaty placements and retrocessional clients, and later as the firm’s Head of Global Practices and Placement Strategy, as CEO of Americas Broking operations, and as leader of the firm’s Continental European operations and Global Business Development. He also has extensive experience in medical malpractice, errors and omissions, EPLI and management liability business.
Andy is a UK native but lives in New York with his wife Carol and three children: a son and two daughters. He is an avid history lover. When he’s not cheering for the Chelsea Football Club, he and his family are involved with various charitable organizations, namely The North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center.
