Hugh Carson

Hugh Francis Carson, better known asFrank Carson, was a comedian and actor from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

He became a familiar figure on British television from the 1970s onwards, earning recognition through appearances on programmes such as The Comedians and Tiswas.

Known for his quick-fire delivery and distinctive comic style, Carson became closely associated with his catchphrase, “It’s the way I tell them!” Over the course of his career, he built a reputation as one of the most recognisable stand-up performers of his generation. He was also a member of the entertainment charity the Grand Order of Water Rats.
